Remediation Study and Implementation
Once the nature and extent of the site contamination have been established, AN-GEO can provide liaison
services among the client, the relevant regulatory authorities and other involved parties in order to
establish the most cost effective and acceptable method of site restoration.
The traditional approach to source control of contaminated sites has typically involved isolation using physical barriers such as slurry walls, liners, and caps and/or removal and disposal of contaminated building materials, soil and waste at appropriate on-or off-site facilities.
The traditional approach to source control of contaminated sites has typically involved isolation using
physical barriers such as sealants, slurry walls, liners and caps, or removal and disposal of contaminated
building material, soil and waste at appropriate on-or off-site facilities.
Treatment can be accomplished via on-site or off-site processing of the removed materials or by in-situ or
in-place treatment (i.e., without demolition or excavation). In-situ treatment (includes washing,
extraction, steam stripping, bioremediation, solidification/stabilization, vitrification, etc.) can sometimes
offer a number of advantages. These may include reduction of safety, environmental, and public health
risks associated with removal, transportation, interim storage, and handling of hazardous materials.
Relocation or isolation may, under certain circumstances, be considered as short term strategies that
merely transfer the problem to future generations or to new locations.
AN-GEO can provide some or all of the following services in conjunction with site remediation projects:
- Identification and selection of the most cost effective method of site restoration.
- Identification and selection of site clean-up criteria.
- Liaison with regulatory agencies.
- Preparation of tender documents and specifications.
- Obtaining bids for the work from experienced contractors.
- Providing on-site monitoring and testing while work in progress.
- Measurements for payment.
- Completion report.
